We are delighted to announce that the tool we developed, and our ongoing work with Hospice UK has been shortlisted for the Prolific North Tech Awards 2019 in the Best Application of Technology – Health category

PopNAT – Hospice UK

PopNAT, the Population Needs Assessment Tool developed for the hospice sector, in a nutshell, is a cloud-based web portal that enables the hospice community to access key data-driven insights about the communities they serve.

Gavurin immediately understood that the outcome we wanted wasn’t the tool itself per se, but what the intelligence it delivered would enable hospice care providers to do better or differently for their communities. Their detailed, structured and informal research with hospice staff has resulted in a easy to use tool which inspires action.

We started working with Hospice UK (HUK) back in late 2017 and released PopNAT in early 2018. It has now been in use for over a year and the results speak for themselves. PopNAT offers insightful suggestions about how hospices might use the data to develop strategic plans for service delivery. We achieved this using geographic data structures, natural language generation, and simple but flexible presentation frameworks – which combine to deliver insights that meet the needs of a community of users that ranges from relative data novices to experienced data analysts. As PopNAT is powered by our core software, for all the information displayed in the web portal users have the option to click through and further explore the data in Gavurin Analytics.
